Scared to go camping?
October 2, 2014Don't worry son, you're two tents
Not sure if our kids are old enough to go camping yet. While they're worrying about bears and spiders, we have some more practical considerations. It's hard enough for us to make a trip to Walmart without them wandering off or tripping over something and hurting themselves. So for now, a tent in the backyard and maybe a few day trips to the mountains until they are older. Oh, and a pun to commemorate it.
Explanation for the kids (and bad puns)
There have been various versions of this "tents" pun over the years. One version has a scared and anxious patient visiting a psychologist. He complains of recurring dreams where he switches between being a tent or a teepee. So naturally, the doctor tells him he is two tents (too tense).
While the son is certainly tense in this pun, instead of comforting him, the Dad just gives him a straight answer. We are sleeping in "your two tents", which sounds a lot like "you're too tense".
